2011 – Progress is being made

Friday, January 7th, 2011

The car is currently at the shop.  My sign guy is biting at the bit to get the car.  We originally just wanted a few things changed, but we ended up cutting 90% of the cage off of the car and starting over.  So the car is going to be “BRAND NEW”.  We are using many of the updated setups used by Hurst Welding and Fabrication.  I can’t wait to get this car together and on the track…  GONNA BE FAST!!!

Racing Update

Monday, May 24th, 2010

OK, so after a crazy weekend at Shadyhill Speedway, we may be finding a new track for Saturday nights…  I apparently raced a local a little too hard.  Never did anything inappropriate, but “raced too hard”.  Was intentionally taken out by another “local”, and then treated unfair by the tech guys.  Then the flagman didn’t black flag a guy that’s fender was hanging out and hit my window net….  Looks like we will be moving a different direction on Saturday nights.

First race night at Shadyhill Speedway

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Wow, what a small track!!!  OK, so the first race of the season didn’t go so well… There was no parking for the big beast of a trailer, then we missed hot laps, backed in and almost knocked down a light pole in the pits with the car, hit a damn tire on the first lap of the heat and blew a tire, so going into the feature, I had NO track time!! AWESOME! Steering still wasn’t working, but we managed to get 6th.

Overall, it was a successful start.  I did put a couple of dents in her, but no new parts are needed!!  Ready for next weekend!

New Sponsors for 2010!!!

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

I am very excited to add some new sponsors to the car this year!  A special thanks to Rolan Plant Services, Greg Graham State Farm Insurance, The Mitchell Agency, Mike Clark FC Tucker Realtor, and Starr Associates Land Surveying and Civil Engineering.  Without our sponsors, we couldn’t race!  Thank you for your support!

Welcome to 2010!!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

We are going to make 2010 the best year we have had for Daugherty Racing!  We can’t do this without your help and support.  One of our main sponsors, Abstract Technology Group, is offering to create and host a website for an entire year for any sponsors above $500, a $500 value!!!  If you already have a website, they will offer a Search Engine Optimization(SEO) package that will increase traffic to your website, a $450 value!!!

As I said, we can’t race without sponsors.  We have all different types of sponsors from the race car only, to a combination of car, truck, and the trailer.  Whatever your marketing needs for your business, we can help.

You can find the sponsorship form here.

We raced this weekend.  We started with a good round of hot laps.  Then the track went to hell….  When I qualified, I took it to the top in turn 4 and barely missed the wall.  I qualified like 12th.  We made some changes to the weight jacks.  I finished 4th in the heat.  We made some major changes for the feature.  We reduced our stagger by almost 2″, and adjusted the weight jacks AND the tire pressures.  Did I mention this is the worst shape I have ever seen the track in??  We ran very well in the feature and should have gotten 5th!  There were 3 cars that wrecked on the final lap and DIDN’T cross the finish line.  I crossed it 5th, but they reverted back to the previous lap….What kinda SH*T is that?  So I was PLACED in 8th place…
